Founder and General Partner of Grand Ventures, Tim is known for his positive outlook on life and recognized for his leadership, creativity and insightful thinking. He has a hybrid background as an entrepreneur, operator and investor who enjoys his work as much as his free time. Always poised under pressure, Tim believes his “glass half full” approach to everything he does helps companies and individuals overcome hurdles to create value for shareholders, employees and the broader community.
During his time at Grand, Tim and team have completed nearly 30 deals including fintech companies: InvestNext, iink, Carputty, Elements, medZERO, and Preczn.
Before Grand Ventures, Tim co-founded Huron River Ventures (HRV), an early-stage venture fund focused on innovative agriculture, energy and transportation companies, raised $16 million across multiple funds, and invested in over 20 companies. He also led HSBC Card Services New Products Group as well as its Corporate Ventures, which focused on business services, financial technology and digital marketing. His career began at J.P. Morgan in Chicago, where he spent five years in capital markets and mergers and acquisitions, overseeing dozens of transactions valued at more than $10 billion.
Tim graduated Summa Cum Laude from the University of Michigan with a degree in Mechanical Engineering. He also earned an MBA from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business.
