Pittsburgh Business Times: New VC fund, Grand Ventures, plans to invest in Pittsburgh tech startups

Two financial industry veterans have launched an early stage midwestern-focused venture fund that is based in Grand Rapids, Mich., but includes Pittsburgh in the orbit of where it will seek to invest.


Grand Ventures I LP plans to invest in tech companies in sectors such as agriculture, manufacturing and transportation. It was co-founded by McKeel Hagerty, who is CEO of Hagerty Insurance and chairman of the board of the Young Presidents Organization, and Tim Streit, a co-founder of Huron River Ventures.
